Hello Hurricane and Typhoon Families! Can you believe it's time for summer swimming!?! Your Hurricane board members have been hard at work getting things ready for the summer, and registration is just around the corner!

As you know, when the season gets closer, you'll start receiving weekly emails from me with important information, but for now, this will give you what you need to get started.

Website: All important team information will be on our website as it becomes available. This includes team suit ordering links, team calendar, meet declarations and sign ups, registration, news, job sign ups, etc. You'll see a lot of updates on the website in the upcoming days, so please be patient as we get things rolling. Team Calendar: I have attached a copy of our team calendar to this email. It will also be on the website throughout the summer! Some of the dates are still tentative (highlighted in yellow), but we will have a finalized version to share at the beginning of May. Our meet dates are set, but some of the special events listed still need confirmation! The first date to notice is May 18th! That is the night of our Parent Open House. Swim Things will be there for suit try on and purchase, and you'll be able to ask questions of board members and available coaches!

Registration: Registration will open for Walden Residents (send an email to [email protected] prior to March 8th for a private registration link) on Sunday, March 8th at 8:00 am. Returning Hurricane families will be able to register beginning on Sunday, March 15th at 8:00 am. New families will be able to register beginning at 8:00 am on Sunday, March 22nd. Registration will be completed through the SwimTopia website (see link above).

USA Swimming Registration: When you complete registration, you'll receive a link to renew or create your USA Swimming Registration. Just a reminder that everyone must have a USA Swimming Registration in order to participate in practice or meets. This includes the Typhoons lessons program! If you were on the team last year, you will RENEW your membership. If your child swam on a Club team over the winter or spring, you will NOT need to register with USA Swimming again. Instead, you'll upload a picture of your child's membership card to this link. USA Swimming information will be shared with you via email after you complete your registration.

Volunteer Job Sign Up: Volunteer job sign ups will open later in the spring, but won't quite be ready when registration opens. We've learned that if you sign up too early, it's hard to stick to your volunteer commitments! Volunteer sign up will open in May! I promise to let you know before these open!

Typhoons (Swim Lessons Program): This is currently set to be limited to 20 participants.If you go to sign up and Typhoons is full, click the link to be added to the wait list right away!We anticipate opening up some more spots as our coaching staff is confirmed and we fill our roster of Typhoon helpers.The wait list will be released in the order you signed up for the wait list, so don’t skip that step!
