The Hills of Walden Swim Team is more than just a team to me—it’s my second family. I’ve been a Hurricane for as long as I can remember—24 years and counting! This marks my 15th year coaching and my 8th year as head coach. My daughter, Riann, is a typhoon and it has been so amazing watching her be apart of a team that means the world to me.
I grew up on this team, starting at age 4, and later swam at NLU and Park Hill South, earning multiple all-state honors along the way.
Currently, I’m the PE Coach at Tiffany Ridge Elementary and an assistant coach for Park Hill South Swim. Before that, I was a 4th-grade teacher at Prairie Point Elementary.
Summer swim is truly my favorite time of the year! I love being back with this incredible team that feels like family. My goal is to help every swimmer improve their strokes, drop time, and most importantly, have fun. This team is about more than just swimming—it’s about enjoying the summer, making memories, and building lifelong friendships.
I can’t wait to meet all the new faces and kick off another fantastic season. See you soon, Hurricanes!
I have been swimming competitively for 13 years and every year I’ve been a part of the Hills of Walden Hurricanes as a summer team. After graduating from high school (and swimming), I attended Missouri State University. I haven’t decided on a major yet, but I’d love to work with kids in some way. I love being with all of the swimmers on the team and being able to share my old passion with kids who are completely new to it. I hope to leave lasting impacts on each swimmer I come across this summer. I just finished up my first semester of college and am looking forward to the upcoming season with a new position on the team!
I swam competitively for 13 years of my life, starting at the age of 6 on Hills of Walden. The Walden swimmers, coaches, and environment was what sparked my love for this sport and inspired me to swim club with Club North Swimming for 7 years. I graduated from Platte County High School in 2024 with four all-state honors and four high school records. Currently, I attend the University of Kansas and am majoring in human biology on the pre-dental track with a minor in visual art. Since graduating, I have been coaching for Club North as an assistant coach and have had the joy of getting to know many of the young Walden swimmers and building special relationships that I truly cherish. Hills of Walden is a one of a kind team that holds such a special place in my heart, and I am so thrilled to get to be a part of it as a coach this upcoming season!
